Who we are
We are `Gas for Climate: a path to 2050’, a group of seven leading European gas transport companies (Enagás, Fluxys, Gasunie, GRTgaz, Open Grid Europe, Snam and Teréga) and two renewable gas industry associations (EBA and CIB).
We are committed to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions in the EU by 2050 and are united in our conviction that renewable and low carbon gas will help to deliver this at lowest possible costs and maximum benefits for the European economyRead more
Gas for Climate
The Paris Agreement goal to limit global temperature increase to well below 2 degrees requires deep decarbonization which requires long-term energy system planning and a shared determination from all involved in the energy system.
Gas for Climate is convinced that a smart combination of renewable electricity and renewable gas will achieve a net zero greenhouse gas emission EU energy system by 2050 in the most cost-efficient way.Read more
Gas and its infrastructure are important today and continues to be important in 2050, provided that a shift takes place towards renewable and low carbon gas to meet the Paris Agreement target of limiting global temperature rise to well below 2 degrees.
Gas for Climate: a path to 2050 advocates an affordable solution in the transition to a sustainable energy system.
